Nia Rennix, founder of The Rennix Weigh is an awarded Clinical Nutritionist & Food Security Specialist with over 15 years of experience. Nia specializes in the causes and solutions of food security, as well as Client Choice Model, blood sugar regulation, PCOS, Acanthosis Nigricans (AN), Diabetes, and Nutritional Therapy for those living with compromised immune systems.
Nia has traveled to several countries following her passion for helping underserved communities, as well as aiding in hunger relief. She has studied various health modalities from different countries & various populations. To name a few, she has lived, volunteered, and worked in Haiti, Beijing, and Guangzhou. She is an advocate for sustainable food systems and clean water. Most notably, she was on the ground advocating for the families during the Flint, Michigan water crisis.
She has been featured in various media outlets, such as ABC, NBC, O Magazine, The Good Dish, Dr. Oz, Essence and Shape Magazine, to name a few. She has also received distinctions & awards for her leadership in the community & activism for eradicating hunger in under-resourced communities.
Not only is Nia the Founder of The Rennix Weigh, but she works with non-profit and for-profit organizations developing and implementing food & nutrition programs. Nia has held positions such as, Behavioral Health Nutritionist, Director of Nutritional Programs in New York City, Multi-Unit General Manager, Director of National Food Programs, and City Director of Food & Fitness.
She is a member of the Academic Society for Functional Foods and Bioactive Compounds, Southern Foodways Alliance, and American Public Health Association. Nia serves on the board for Head Start in the Bronx and was appointed by the NYC Mayor to serve on the advisory board for the NYC Public Schools Lunch Pilot Program.
Nia attended major colleges and universities to obtain her knowledge in the field. She has her degrees in Clinical Dietetics & Political Science/Health Care Policy
Nia splits her time between Massachusetts and Michigan. She enjoys watching action movies, trying new restaurants, traveling, going to museums, and spending time with her family & fluffy cat, Bailey.
